An elderly Rockingham couple were hospitalised with serious facial injuries after being bashed in a violent home invasion on Thursday night.
Police are searching for a man who attacked a 78-year-old man and his 84-year-old wife after breaking into the couple's Christison Way house about 7.40pm.
Sgt Graeme Clifford said the elderly man was punched in the face and knocked to the ground after the attacker had demanded money, while his wife was repeatedly punched in the head and then kicked when she tried to intervene.
The man and his wife were taken to Rockingham General Hospital - the woman with broken bones in her face and the man with serious facial injuries - where they remained last night.
Sgt Clifford said the attacks were vicious and cowardly and wanted anyone with information to come forward.
The attacker is described as being dark skinned, with short black hair and of medium to solid build.Sponsored links
