Car thieves hit 250km/h during chase

Car thieves reached up to 250km/h through Perth's southern suburbs in a stolen high-performance Holden Commodore GTS last night.

Police spotted the black sedan in Shenton Park about 2am which had been used in a number of burglaries.

Officers followed the car but lost it. About an hour later they spotted the car again on Curtin Avenue, Cottesloe.

A chase ensued, during which the drivers of the Commodore reached up to 250km/h.

Police are urging anyone with information about the stolen silver Holden GTS to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
