Two more asylum boats intercepted

Two boats carrying about 120 asylum seekers have arrived in Australian waters.

HMAS Wollongong intercepted one boat carrying an estimated 52 people north-west of Christmas Island today.

HMAS Larrakia intercepted the other vessel, carrying an estimated 69 people, in a similar area.

The asylum seekers will be transferred to Christmas Island for security, health and identity checks.
