Kimberley plane emergency

A plane carrying two people has been forced to make an emergency landing in the remote Kimberley.

Police said the plane had landed in scrub at Ringer Soak, about 160km from Halls Creek, after the pilot of the Cessna 210 reported engine failure about 1pm.

Initial reports said four people were on board the single engine aircraft but it was later confirmed there were only two.

It is understood the plane landed near Gordon Downs Road.

Paramedics from Kununurra were being flown to the scene by helicopter but it has since been reported the pilot and a passenger are unharmed.

The plane had been travelling to an Aboriginal community at Ringer Soak.

More to come.
