Nation's top training centre in WA

A Northbridge organisation has taken out top honours in a national training award.

Central Institute of Technology was named the Australian International Training Provider of the Year last night at the Australian Training Awards presentation in Adelaide.

Central Institute delivered about 120 courses to international students, with more than half at Certificate IV level and above, a spokesman said.

It also provided international mobility opportunities for domestic students and played an active role in education and training policy development in the global community.

Central Institute was one of nine winners from the WA Training Awards announced in September, which represented the State at a national level.

Training and Workforce Development Minister Dr Kim Hames said it was an outstanding achievement by Central Institute and a testament to the hard work and determination of everyone involved.

"Central Institute's approach is an excellent example of tailoring training and program strategy to meet student, industry and market needs," Dr Hames said.
