Olivia Singer is set to realise the dream of many children after recently filming a television commercial for an insurance group.

The six-year-old from Albany earned $1600 for her efforts.

Child modelling agency Bettina Management scouted the young starlet after her mother Cindy sent in her profile.

Ms Singer said Olivia's passion for modelling and acting began about 18 months ago.

"We were watching a TV show together and it came up the show wasn't real life and the people in the show weren't a real family but actors playing a role," she said.

"After that she'd say quite often she wanted to be on TV or in magazines." Olivia worked under bright lights for about six hours for the advertisement and came out of it exhausted but satisfied.

Bettina Management national recruitment manager Joanna Millward said child models had high-earning potential.

"It depends on how much the child is in a commercial but usually they get about $1000 to $4000," she said.

A successful model would do several ads each month but steady work was never guaranteed.
