A 59-year-old Kununurra is recovering after sustaining multiple injuries in a truck rollover on North West Coastal Highway.
Rescue crews took two hours to cut the man out of the truck after it rolled about 4.45pm on Friday.
According to authorities, the truck left the road after a tyre blew out and the truck hit a water drain.
The man sustained multiple injuries to his legs and head and was airlifted to Darwin Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was carting water and an excavator from Kalumburu from Wyndham to Kununurra for Ord River Contracting.
An Ord River Contracting spokeswoman thanked emergency crews including Saint John Ambulance and local police for keeping the man alive.
"We wanted to thank the police station, including the officers who were off duty and came to help, as well as the fire and emergency services," she said.
"They worked tirelessly and were so methodical in what they did - it wouldn't have ended like that if it wasn't for them"

An RFDS spokesperson said the man was in a stable condition but had sustained multiple injuries.He is recovering in Darwin Hospital.
