Generation Z is always connected

Youngsters from Generation Z are the most connected of any generation and have never known what it is like to be out of touch, says Curtin University cultural studies academic Jon Stratton.

"It's a generation that has never known what it's like not to be connected," he said. "If their mobile technology breaks down for some reason it's a time of panic."

Professor Stratton said Generation Z - born between 1995 and 2009 - also felt a general lack of security because they had grown up in the shadow of terrorism.

_The West Australian _Newspapers in Education wants to know more about what Generation Z thinks of the world.

It is offering 12 students from Years 6 to 12 the chance to be editors for a day to celebrate WA Children's Week.
