$1m damage in Rockingham factory blaze

A fire which destroyed a Rockingham factory this morning has caused about $1 million of damage.

The blaze, which started at a factory on Crocker Street just after midnight, took almost three hours to control.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said 10 units attended.

The building collapsed during the fire.

A police spokesman said the factory contained combustible material which exploded several times during the blaze.

He said 12 vehicles were also destroyed in the fire.

The police arson squad is investigating.
