Man dead in caravan fire
An elderly man has died in a caravan fire in the South West this morning.
Authorities in Northcliffe were called to the blaze about 6am in Pioneer Road at Meerup, just west of the town.
The RAC Rescue was deployed but turned back.
Firefighters found the man's body inside the caravan.
“Any death in that sort of circumstance is tragic,” Manjimup shire president Wade De Campo said.
“It’s just a reminder to people to be as safe as they can, and to be vigilant of their safety,” he said.
Investigators are on their way to the scene.
