Man injured in shed explosion

A man has been injured after a gas explosion in a farm shed in the South West this morning.

Emergency services were called to Lowrie Road in Elgin, near Capel, just before 9.30am after reports of a shed on fire.

It is believed the blast was caused by an exploding fuel drum.

The injured man is believed to be 70 years of age.

The RAC Rescue helicopter has been sent to the incident.

Police, firefighters and paramedics are in attendance.
