Hung jury in Clarkson murder trial

A Perth jury has been unable to reach a verdict in the case of a Clarkson man who fatally shot his step-son.

The hung jury outcome yesterday evening means Bradley Thomas Danual Auckram 52, now faces a retrial on the allegation he murdered his adult step-son Jason Jeffrey Burton last June.

Mr Auckram, who remains in custody, argued that he acted in defence of himself and his family when he shot a mentally unwell Mr Burton four times in the hallway of their Clarkson home.

The prosecution alleged that Mr Auckram had no lawful excuse for the shooting and opened fire on his step-son with the intention of killing or inflicting
