Woman s death brings road toll to 27

A 22-year-old woman has become the 27th person to die on the State's roads after she succumbed to her injuries overnight.

The woman was driving a Suzuki Swift along Beeliar Drive in Beeliar about 7.20am on Sunday when she collided into the back of a stationary water truck.

She was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious facial injuries. Her passenger was taken to Fremantle Hospital with minor injuries.

Major crash investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The truck is understood to have had its warning lights on at the time of the crash.
