A liquor store worker was forced at knifepoint to take money from a safe while a colleague was forced to lie on the floor during a robbery in Kallaroo last night.

A police spokeswoman said police were called to the BWS Liquor Store in Kallaroo about 8.20pm last night following an armed robbery at the business.

"A man armed with a knife entered the store on Bridgewater Drive and threatened staff for

cash from the register," she said.

The offender then further demanded staff to guide him to the location of the office safe where

he forced one staff member to lie on the floor and the other to remove a quantity of money.

The offender fled the scene in a vehicle believed to be a red Ford Laser.

He is described as about 170cm tall, slim build and wearing grey tracksuit pants and a red t-shirt.

He covered his face with a light-coloured t-shirt.
