Beaches closed after shark sightings

Cottesloe Beach has been closed after a shark sighting but City Beach and Floreat Beach have been reopened.

Surf Life Saving WA reported about 11.30am that a 3.5m shark was spotted offshore tracking south towards North Cottesloe. Cottesloe lifeguards closed the beach.

Just before 11am a 2.5m tiger shark was spotted off Scarborough Beach, SLSWA tweeted.

City Beach in Perth and Meelup Beach in the South West were closed after shark sightings this morning. Both have since been reopened.

The South West Helicopter spotted a 3.5m tiger shark, 80-100m offshore at Meelup tracking west.
