The chase started after police spotted a stolen Statesman in Carlisle about 8.40pm.

The pursuit went through East Victoria Park and Bentley before ending at Welshpool train station.

Police say the occupants threw property from the vehicle during the pursuit and one person jumped out of the vehicle and fled.

Police arrested a 25-year-old woman from Belmont who is alleged to have been the driver and a 24-year-old passenger.

The driver has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and released on bail pending a court appearance.
