Five rescued after boat overturns

Five people have been plucked from the water off Rottnest this afternoon after the boat they were in overturned.

One man was winched aboard the RAC rescue helicopter and the other four were rescued by Rottnest rangers.

None of the five is injured. All are being taken to Rottnest Island.

The alarm was raised when an emergency beacon was activated when the boat turned over.
