Bandits steal safe in ram raid

Burglars used a car to force their way into a Bertram fast food restaurant and steal a safe early this morning.

Police said the bandits, who were driving a black Holden Commodore and a white utility, used one of the vehicles to push against a glass door and break into the Chicken Treat on Hero Crescent about 2am.

They stole the safe and fled the scene in both cars.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
