Man charged over bow and arrow threat

A 28-year-old Yokine man has been charged after he allegedly threatened a man with a bow and arrow in Wembley last night.

The man was holding a compound bow with a loaded arrow in the carpark of a block of units on Herdsman Parade about 6pm.

When a bystander asked the man and his friend what they were doing, the offender pointed the bow at him in an aggressive manner.

It will be alleged the two men then walked to a nearby park and one of them fired the bow at a tree.

Police were called and both men were taken into custody.

The 28-year-old has been charged with possessing a controlled weapon and being armed in a way that may cause fear.

He will appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on January 29.
