$400,000 damage in house fire

MATILDA PRICE, The West Australian January 10, 2013, 7:14 am

A house fire in Perth's southern suburbs early this morning caused $400,000 damage.

Firefighters attended the blaze on King Road in Oldbury about 1.50am after a passerby alerted authorities.

The fire was quickly extinguished and no-one was inside at the time.

A police spokesman said the Department of Fire and Emergency Services were still trying to contact the property's owner.

A fire investigation officer will be at the house later today, but police believe the blaze was not suspicious.
