The RAC rescue helicopter was sent but a man and a woman both died.

Another man died after a crash on the North West Coastal Highway in Yannarie, about 20km south of the Burkett Road intersection, yesterday morning.

The man's car is believed to have veered off the road before rolling over. It is understood the man was trapped under the wreckage and passers-by could not free him.

Seventeen-year-old Nathanyal Jaeger died in Castletown, Esperance, early on Monday when the car he was driving hit a power pole.

The national toll climbed to 19 yesterday after five deaths were recorded on NSW roads.

A police chase ended when a car hit a power pole in Moulden Avenue, Yokine, about 9.40pm yesterday. One person was arrested.
