Former karate champion turned handbag designer Jessica Bratich-Johnson and cricketer Mitchell Johnson have a reason to celebrate this week, having welcomed their baby daughter, Rubika Anne Johnson, into the world yesterday.
The new bub is the first child for the happy couple, who managed to keep the exciting news quiet among close friends and family for several weeks.
The West Australian announced that they were due to become parents back in August, where Bratich-Johnson was more than halfway through her pregnancy at 22 weeks.
But the pending birth proved no hindrance for the ambitious 30-year-old, who even towards the end of her pregnancy hosted various events to promote her self-titled handbag label.
She even flew to New York with fellow Perth designer Betty Tran in September, where she debuted her handbag collection at New York Fashion Week with much success.Things have also begun to look up for Johnson, who late last month made his Test cricket comeback against South Africa at the WACA and is expected to hold his place for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
