Probe into Cable Beach house fire

Michelle Wheeler, The West Australian November 20, 2012, 8:18 am

A car fire that spread to a house caused $150,000 damage to a home in Broome overnight.

A Fire and Emergency Services Authority spokesman said firefighters were called to the home in Howard Place at Cable Beach about 2.15am.

He said a vehicle caught fire in the carport and the blaze had spread to the house.

The spokesman said the fire completely destroyed the carport but the home and contents suffered mainly smoke damage.

The cause of the car fire is being investigated.
