Helicopter sent for quad rider

A male quad bike rider is being airlifted to hospital after he crashed in sand dunes in Lancelin today.

The incident occurred in dunes near the intersection of Beacon Road and Desert Road just before midday.

It is believed to be seriously injured with possible spinal injuries.

The RAC Rescue Helicopter picked up the man at about 12.20pm and is heading to Royal Perth Hospital.
