Shark spotted in Swan River

JAYNE RICKARD, The West Australian November 13, 2012, 9:36 am

A two-metre shark was spotted in the Swan River near East Perth last night.

Surf Life Saving WA reported the shark was seen in Claisebrook Cove about 9.30pm.

A Department of Fisheries spokesman said he understood the species of shark was a bull shark, which was not uncommon in the river.

Fisheries also advise this morning that there are two 2m sharks feeding on a dead turtle off Swanbourne Beach.
