A 69-year-old Bentley man has been charged over the discovery of 40 used hypodermic syringes in 40 separate letter boxes in a group of units.

Police launched an investigation into the needles at the complex in Dumond Street, Bentley, on October 25.

It is alleged some of the syringes were uncapped and had the needles exposed.

The 69-year-old man has been charged with acts or omissions that are likely to, or do, endanger the life, health or safety of a person.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on November 22.
