Sacked FESA boss gets new job

Daniel Emerson, The West Australian Updated August 10, 2012, 3:30 am

The woman sacked over her performance at the helm of the Fire and Emergency Services Authority during last year's Perth Hills bushfire has a new job advising the Public Sector Commission on senior management.

Jo Harrison-Ward is being paid $291,000 a year - the same as her FESA salary - to work as a PSC management consultant.

The Opposition yesterday branded the appointment "perplexing" in light of former Australian Federal Police commissioner Mick Keelty's report into the bushfire that destroyed 72 homes.

Public Sector Commissioner Mal Wauchope, at the direction of the Premier, asked Ms Harrison-Ward to stand aside last August.
