West Australians have been urged to vaccinate against the flu as there's been a big spike in cases across the State.
Australian Medical Association WA president Richard Choong said the number of people presenting to hospitals with flu-like symptoms had recently jumped.
He said this was unusual because August was normally the peak month for the sometimes-deadly illness.
Mr Choong urged everyone to get vaccinated, not just those at high risk.
"It's been demonstrated in hospitals that more and more people are presenting with influenza-type illnesses and this is really concerning because it's early in the season," he told ABC Radio.Sponsored links
