A Kewdale teenager has faced court this morning charged over a train station assault on a deaf man whose eye socket was fractured.

Joshua William Bignell, 18, appeared in the Perth Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He did not plead to the charge and his lawyer Max Crispe told the court prosecutors were considering a “possible change in the charge” against Mr Bignell.

Police will allege Mr Bignell and a second man bashed and kicked 28-year-old Gosnells man, Seow Oh, while he was walking along a platform at Carlisle train station last week.

There are concerns Mr Oh may lose the sight in his left eye.

Kensington detectives are still searching for a second attacker.

Mr Bignell’s bail was renewed for him to reappear in court on July 12.
