Organisers of the annual Gimme Shelter concert at the Fremantle Arts Centre are hoping for a last minute run on tickets to raise the money needed to help hundreds of homeless people in the port city this year.

The concert, on Saturday night, is a not-for-profit charity event designed to raise cash for St Pat's, a centre that provides accommodation, meals, a grooming service, health care and referral services for hundreds of the port city's most disadvantaged people.

Now in its fifth year the event has raised more than $200,000 for St Pat's and organiser Phoebe Corke said every cent raised goes to the charity.

"Our costs are all covered by sponsorships," Ms Corke said. She said Gimme Shelter was a unique family-based event but this year ticket sales appeared to be a little slow.

The rock, folk and pop music concert has an impressive line-up, including former Triffids band members Alsy MacDonald and Jill Birt who will headline the event.

Their band, Jill and Alsy, play an eclectic mix of music genres including some of the Triffids hits. They will be joined on stage by Adrian Hoffman from The Morning Night.

The concert will open with the Starlight Hotel Choir, a street choir that draws its talent from the ranks of St Pat's clients.

Gimme Shelter is on at the Fremantle Arts Centre this Saturday, with doors opening at 5.30pm.
