Search for lost camera owner goes viral

Tens of thousands of internet users have joined the search for the owner of a lost camera after an image of him was published online.

Netherlands man Roland van Gogh posted a photo from the camera on his Facebook page this week starting a search for the owner.

The photo shows the camera's owner cycling with a blonde woman and has since been posted on other social media sites

Mr van Gogh said his father-in-law found the red Nikon Coolpix camera on June 20 at the train station in Amsterdam Amstel.

The photos show a trip throughout Europe from about May 7 and a visit to Amsterdam from June 15.

"We would like to give him back the camera and the photos. Please Like, Share and spread this photo around so we can give him back his camera!" he said on Facebook.

The photo was shared more than 10,000 times within 10 hours of the photo being uploaded to Facebook and today had been shared more than 45,000 times.

In his most recent post yesterday Mr van Gogh said he had a lead on the woman in the photo and hoped to hear from her soon.
