Newsreader struck by hiccups on air

Radio presenter Kate Wilson was struck by a bout of hiccups minutes before having to read the 3am news bulletin on air, all her listeners have heard.

The 3AW newsreader fought a losing, and often hilarious, battle against the hiccups for over four minutes. Unfortunately, the news reports were not shocking enough to scare the hiccups away.

Most commendably, Wilson never gave up and continued reading the news bulletin with aplomb and determination.

After a listener with a knack for stating the obvious asked Wilson if she had the hiccups via Twitter, the presenter tweeted back: "Unfortunately, yes. And they arrived at the convenient time of 2:59am..."
