Steve Jobs has 'weeks to live': report

A US tabloid newspaper has reported that Apple CEO Steve Jobs has only weeks to live.

The National Enquirer has published photos of Jobs looking 'skeletal' outside the Stanford Cancer Centre in Palo Alto, California.

According to Dr Samuel Jacobson, "Judging from the photos, he is close to terminal. I would say he has six weeks."

The photos were reportedly taken on February 8.

55-year-old Jobs has been taking a leave of absence since January. He told Apple employees, "At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company."

It's not the first time Jobs taken time off; he was treated for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004 and had a liver transplant in 2009.

It's not known whether his current illness is related to previous health problems.
