A 23-year-old Cloverdale man has appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on burglary, carjacking and driving charges after a chase through Perth yesterday.
Axel Farran Winmar appeared briefly on 31 charges.
The charges were not read in court and there was no application for bail.
One charge of reckless driving was amended to include a circumstance of aggravation, alleging that at the time of the incident Mr Winmar was driving to escape a pursuit my a member of the police force.
Mr Winmar will appear in court again on a video link on April 4 after obtaining further legal advice.
A pursuit started yesterday after a driver allegedly failed to stop for police in Cloverdale about 9.30am.
The car was driven on the wrong side of the road during the chase before it was abandoned in Armadale.
Police allege the driver jumped several fences and entered a home on Cabarita Road, before officers made an arrest.Detective Sen-Sgt Jason Beesley, from the newly-formed vehicle crime unit, said it was lucky no one was injured during the chase.
