Drunk driver blows nearly 0.4 blood alcohol

Liam Croy, The West Australian February 22, 2013, 7:34 am

A man blew seven times over the legal limit last night after he was apprehended by a member of the public in Hammond Park.

The man was travelling towards Rockingham on the Kwinana Freeway when another driver noticed his inability to drive in a straight line.

The other driver called police and started following the drink-driver.

When both cars stopped at traffic lights at the Russell Road exit, the member of the public grabbed the man’s keys out of the ignition and detained him.

A police spokesman said the driver recorded a preliminary blood alcohol level between 0.35-0.4 and was unable to walk, talk or sit up.
