Homicide probe into man s disappearance

Dean Anthony Pollard.

A homicide investigation is underway into the "suspicious" 2010 disappearance of a 44-year-old High Wycombe man.

Dean Anthony Pollard was last seen at a MacDonald's restaurant in Midland in late May 2010 and detectives believe the circumstances surrounding his disappearance were suspicious.

Police said information at the time suggested Mr Pollard intended to travel to Tasmania to meet his daughter but he has since made no contact with family and friends. He was reported missing by his father.

In a statement today, police said his disappearance was now being investigated as a suspected homicide.

Police said they had recently determined that the circusmtances of his disappearance were suspicious, but would not elaborate.

Mr Pollard was close to his family, police said.

Police have called for those with information into Mr Pollard's movements in the lead-up to his disappearance to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
