Police have arrested a man over a car crash more than eight years ago that claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman.
North West Metropolitan District Crime Team officers yesterday arrested a 26-year-old man in Girrawheen.
He was charged with manslaughter, no license to drive and having an unlicensed vehicle in 2004.
He allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection of Mirrabooka Avenue and Reid Highway on the night of July 27, causing a three-car crash that claimed the life of 65-year-old Hien Thi Kim Nguyen, of Girrawheen.
He was 18 at the time of the crash.
The man was granted bail at the time but failed to attend a later court date, a police spokesman said.
Clarence Edward George Ryder appeared in court today.
He did not apply for bail.
He was charged with breaching bail and failing to appear in court in September 2004 and a charge relating to stealing from a business in 2004.Sponsored links
