Armed robbery in Spearwood

UPDATE: 3.20PM An armed bandit has robbed a jewellery store in Spearwood.

Police say the man entered the Shiels jewellery store in the Phoenix Park Shopping Centre on Rockingham Road about 12.15pm.

He was armed with a sawn-off shotgun and tyre lever.

He smashed a glass display cabinet with a tyre lever before stealing jewellery.

The bandit then threatened staff before fleeing from the store.


It is unclear at this stage how much jewellery was stolen.

No shot was fired during the robbery.


It is understood a woman was treated for chest pains.
