Final preparations were under way yesterday in readiness for the 100s and 1000s Women’s Walk, with 58 women preparing to depart the Esperance foreshore near the Pier Hotel at 9am tomorrow.
A huge logistics operation has been set in motion, including two trucks laden with equipment, supplies and a five-person shower for walkers to use at the end of each day’s walk.
Rotary club of Esperance Bay member David Ford has been planning the walk for almost a year and the route will not be revealed until the start on Saturday.
As well as the shower unit, there is also a generator, lighting rig, a 7000l water tank for the showers, tents, chairs and tables.
Mr Ford said there was no limit to the amount of time women could take showering, but suggested between three and four minutes would be good.Sponsored links
