Mount Tarcoola Primary School has taken out this year’s Interschool Numero Challenge.
Schools from across the Mid West travelled to Mt Tarcoola Primary School for a morning of intense competition last Monday.
‘Tarcoola Wildcards’ placed first, followed by ‘Rangeway Raiders’ coming in second and Mt Tarcoola’s ‘Math Maniacs’ taking out third.
Mt Tarcoola students Cam Keyser, Michael Adams, Kaeleb Prout and Mitchell Nicoletto will now compete in the WA final, set for November 14.
Eighteen teams, each comprised of four students, competed for the regional title.
The challenge consisted of four events, including individual top take, team top take, individual Numero games and the popular scramble, a relay-style challenge dependent on speed and numeracy.
Bluff Point Primary School, Coorow Primary School, Dongara District High School, Mingenew Primary School, Mt Magnet District High School, Mt Tarcoola Primary School, Rangeway Primary School and Saint Lawrence’s Primary School participated in the event.The statewide challenge has been held annually since 1998 and is sponsored by Australian Finance Group, with support from R.I.C. Publications.
