Alleged Ellenbrook gunman in court

Update: 1pm A man who allegedly terrorised families with a gun in Ellenbrook this week has appeared in court after a major police hunt.

Joshua Robert Wroth was apprehended in Bullsbrook overnight, after allegedly going on a rampage in the northern Perth suburb on Tuesday night where he allegedly tried to smash his way into homes before stealing a car then torching it.

Police yesterday executed a search warrant in an Ellenbrook home and found "items of interest" shortly after apprehending the man, a police spokesman said.

The 27-year-old man is facing two counts of attempted armed robbery, two counts of armed robbery, one count of stealing a motor vehicle, criminal damage, burglary, stealing, possessing an unlicensed firearm and unlicensed ammunition.

Mr Wroth appeared in Midland Magistrate's Court today where he was remanded in custody. He made no application for bail and asked for a two week adjournment.
