A small crowd gathered at the Esperance War Memorial on Sunday to honour those who served in the Vietnam War.

Esperance RSL sub-branch president George Starcevich said the occasion was important to remember all the military personnel who gave their lives in the service of Australia during the 13-year war.

“We thank all who were wounded, whether in body or mind,” Mr Starcevich said.

“You carry the scars and pain to this day and we all owe you a great deal.”

Mr Starcevich said all Vietnam veterans had upheld the traditions of service men and women who had also fought for their country.
