Another serious car accident has occurred in the Mid West after a man suffered suspected spinal injuries in a single vehicle crash at Three Springs this morning, police say.

Three Springs Police Sgt Kevin Taylor said some mine workers came upon the wreckage of a vehicle at about 5.30am, several hundred metres from Three Springs on the Perenjori Three Springs Rd.

Sgt Taylor said it appeared the driver may have veered off the road and crashed after attempting to correct the vehicle.

He was unable to provide the man’s age and said he was being assessed at Three Springs Hospital.

He said the driver appeared to have sustained spinal and head injuries.

Last night in Greenough a 52-year-old man died when his vehicle collided with a road train and burst into flames on Brand Hwy, Cape Burney.

The male driver of the road train driver was taken to hospital.

He is understood to have suffered a severe leg injury.

The road train, transporting sand, overturned in the accident which occurred about 6pm.

Last Wednesday, a 31-year-old mother-to-be from the Murchison Settlement died when her Toyota Prado overturned North of Mullewa.

The vehicle crashed just after midnight about 80 kilometres north of Mullewa on the Mullewa-Carnarvon Rd.

The woman has been named as retired land care officer Karen Collins.
