Update 2.15pm: The head of the engineering company where a 27-year-old lost his life yesterday, has expressed his sympathies to the employee's family.
Camco Engineering's managing director Bruce Cameron said the man's death was "deeply distressing" for his family and colleagues and counselling would be made available at the company’s Canning Vale premises.
"This is a tragic event for everyone concerned and we extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of our colleague," Mr Cameron said.
WorkSafe is investigating the incident.
The machinist is believed to have died when a vertical boring machine he was operating fell at 6.20pm.
WorkSafe WA commissioner Nina Lyhne gave her sincere condolences to the man's family and said any work-related death was a tragedy.
