Norm Smith Medallist Andrew Embley has suffered a pre-season setback, injuring his shoulder during a match simulation drill at West Coast training this morning.

The Eagles veteran suffered a subluxation of the right shoulder while attempting a tackle and will be sidelined for between three and six weeks.

A subluxation is a temporary, partial dislocation of the shoulder joint.

While the NAB Cup is now an unlikely prospect for Embley, the club says it is confident he will be ready for round one against the Western Bulldogs on April 1.

Wonder how they will go this year given that last year their veterans were their best players, ie. Cox, Glass, Embley, etc. Can they produce again and can the younger players improve? Interesting.

The younger players have to step up 2 notches this year, and take the pressure off the older guys

As long as they win two games this year I will be happy, defeating the dorkers by a point kicked after the siren from a dubious free kick each time would be fantastic. I will continue to follow my team (whoever is playing fleao) again this year.
