Diners at a fast food restaurant in Mandurah tackled an armed robber attempting to hold up the store last night.
Police said it would have been the 34-year-old man's second robbery in three days.
The drama unfolded about 9.30pm yesterday when the man, armed with a knife entered a fast food restaurant in Pinjarra Road. He allegedly threatened staff and demanded money.
Police said that one of the diners picked up a wet floor sign and hit the man over the head, allowing other customers to overpower him until police arrived.
Police will further allege that on Monday about 5pm, the man entered another fast food restaurant on the same road and held up staff. He got away with cash, fleeing on a bicycle.
The man has been charged with stealing, violence whilst armed and attempted stealing with violence whilst armed.
He will appear in the East Perth Magistrate's Court today.
