Star names miss Dockers training

A handful of Dockers stars missed this morning's open training session at Fremantle Oval ahead of their qualifying final against Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Saturday.

Veteran pair Aaron Sandilands and Matthew Pavlich, as well as fellow regulars Nick Suban and Cameron Sutcliffe, were notable absentees from the light session in overcast conditions.

Key midfielder Michael Barlow was also absent after courageously playing against Port Adelaide on the weekend just two weeks after breaking his thumb.

All-Australian defender Luke McPharlin is considered unlikely to line up against the Swans and didn't press his claims at this morning's session.

Alex Silvagni - the man likely to come in to replace Michael Johnson, who has been ruled out for the finals series due to back surgery - did not appear while training was open to the media.

Star trio Stephen Hill, Michael Walters and Hayden Ballantyne jogged laps together, while defensive group Zac Dawson, Lee Spurr, Paul Duffield, Tendai Mzungu and Clancee Pearce were also on light duties.

Nat Fyfe looked sharp as he prepares to return from suspension in the crucial final, which will determine which side gets to host a preliminary final.

About 50 supporters turned out to cheer their heroes on, with the main group completing some light running and skills drills.

The side will hold their main training session on Thursday before flying out to Sydney.
