Former West Coast coach John Worsfold needed medical treatment after finishing the New York Marathon last night.
In an extraordinary interview to be published in tomorrow's The West Australian, Worsfold talks of a dramatic aftermath to the race, which he completed in three hours, 29 minutes and 54 seconds.
Worsfold needed treatment in a medical tent for more than hour before recovering well enough to join teammates in celebrations last night.
He said he had never experienced anything like it as he struggled to breathe and compose himself and it was only when doctors gave him salt and fluids that his condition improved.
