A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Gascoyne and Central Wheat Belt districts.
The warning includes people in an area bounded by Yalgoo to Youanmi to Southern Cross to Beacon to Yalgoo.
At 4.30pm satellite and radar imagery showed that there is a risk of severe weather this afternoon and evening.
Storms may be accompanied by damaging winds and heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding.
This morning, about 1000 people living in regional WA were without power after lightning damaged Western Power's network overnight.
A Western Power spokeswoman said the outages were spread out across the State, but the worst-affected towns were Denmark, Lancelin and Boyup Brook.
She said the outages were a direct result of last night's lightning storms.
Western Power said power was expected to be returned in Denmark about midday, but the estimated restoration time for Lancelin and Denmark was unknown.
Perth had a warm night last night, with a minimum temperature of 21.7C.
The Weather Bureau is forecasting showers and thunderstorms for Perth today, with a maximum temperature of 32C.
