Police say they will conduct extra patrols along Perth's beaches this summer to target alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour and thieves.
Acting Commander Charlie Carver said officers patrolling beachfronts this summer were being instructed to have a zero tolerance approach to drunken behaviour.
"Drinking in public places is illegal and, where identified, liquor infringements will be issued. Officers will be targeting people that are creating disturbances or acting in a drunken or aggressive manner," he said.
Acting Commander Carver said alcohol also impeded judgment which could be a danger for those using the water.Police have asked those who witness anti-social behaviour or people acting suspiciously near parked cars on the beach to contact Police on 131 444.
